Thankfulness

Okay, so I have unfortunately been away from my blogging duties for awhile and that is because I have let life take over. I am going to be much better about getting around to my weekly blogging...especially now that we are 2 weeks into our fitness challenge. The moms are doing such a fabulous job but I will blog later just about them because they deserve a blog all of their own.

It is back to school time and getting your 4th grader ready for their first day is surreal at this point at least for me. My little girl is one of the "big kids" at her school now. All the other kids will be looking up at her this year. 4th graders rule!

For the past few years, back to school, has always given me a sense of relief that it is finally here...peace and quiet. No more bickering between siblings, no more "Mom, I am bored", no more "Can we have another Popsicle" after they have already have taken it out and eaten half of it while the other half is oozing down their arms. This year is different though, my daughter has been an enormous part of StrollerFit this summer and I will never be able to thank her enough. As everyone is well aware of the economy, we had to make the hard decision to keep her out of summer camps to save some money this year so she had to come with me to class each day. That would be extremely hard on most 8/9 yr olds but she was a trooper. She was able to ride her scooter around the park as we held class. If we traveled the trails she was our "caboose" and always knew where to go and what to do. Her favorite thing was to be the last one in line and when we got to the hill she just loved to coast down it as fast as possible. She really did enjoy coming this year, so much that she felt and did have her own duties as well. That was if my youngest started to fuss while I was teaching, she would gently move the stroller around until he calmed down and fell asleep (class is during the middle of his morning nap). She did this for me many, many days. She also was such a great help in entertaining the other kiddos while their moms were running laps or running up and down our hill at our park. She enjoyed tickling them or blowing bubbles for them to watch and was always there for her little brothers. Mommy's little helper.

As the days got closer to school time we started buying school supplies and getting ready for the first day. On one of our trips to the store trying to fine index cards because everyone was out, I asked her if she enjoyed her summer and if she was disappointed she had been stuck with me the whole time. Her reply was priceless...."No, I got to spend time with my mommy and get to do what she does, help other mommies get fit and take care of my brothers and the other babies". "I liked being outside and working out like you."

Was I thankful that school is back in session, yes but this year I am thankful to have such a fabulous job that I could still teach StrollerFit yet still have great impact and infuluence on such a beautiful child. I truly love my job!!
Rylee I thank you for everything and I love you to the moon and back!
Love Mom
